Traditional Pancakes

Woodee Pancake Recipe from our cookout live. Give it a go, it’s a brilliant way for all the family to have a go at flipping without the mess of it hitting the ceiling!

Ingredients

  • 100g plain flour

  • 2 large eggs

  • 300ml milk

  • 1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil, plus a little extra for frying

  • Lemon wedges, to serve (optional)

  • Caster sugar, to serve (optional)

Let’s Cook

Put the flour into a bowl, make a well in the centre and crack the eggs onto the flour add some of the milk and using a whisk bring the flour slowly into the eggs and milk, adding more milk as you go to create a smooth batter. Finally, add the tablespoon of oil. (You may not need all the milk)

Set aside for 30 mins to rest if you have time, or start cooking straight away.

Place the cooking tray onto the fire pit and allow to heat up. Brush or spray on a little oil to prevent sticking. When hot, pour on the pancake batter to the size you like and cook for 1 min on each side until golden, remove from the heat and place onto a plate until ready to eat.

Serve with lemon wedges and caster sugar, or your favourite filling. Once cold, you can layer the pancakes between baking parchment, then wrap in cling film and freeze for up to 2 months.

Enjoy!
